O’Cee Dixon

I was 14 when I composed my first song on staved paper and pencil. My music teacher tasked us to think of a composition in two months time. I didn’t listen to my music teacher so I composed a song for the next day in a rush. It was based on a scene from a Charlie Chaplin film. I hated it but it taught me the importance of forgetting yourself and letting the music tell it’s own story.

I have studied Capoeira as a teenager and due to those experiences, I have learnt to appreciate the power of music in community.
